The Bowling Green Fire Department serves the community within the Bowling Green city limits while also assisting surrounding counties as needed. We invite you to follow us on FaceBook, Instagram, and Twitter.
The Bowling Green Fire Division has earned an ISO Class 2 rating. The quality of fire protection available to the citizens of Bowling Green is evaluated by the Insurance Services Office (ISO). The insurance industry relies on ISO to determine insurance rates for business, industry, and homeowners. These ratings calculate how well-equipped fire departments are to put out fires in that community. ISO provides this score, often called the "ISO fire score," to insurance companies. Insurers then use it to help set insurance rates. The better equipped your fire department is to put out a fire, the less likely your building or house is to burn down. That makes your home or business less risky, and therefore less expensive, to insure.

Borax and boric acid are two boron salts. Find borax in the store as a laundry detergent booster or household cleaner. Stores sell boric acid as a roach killer or as a disinfectant. Adding either chemical to a fire yields a vivid green flame.
For best results, mix either borax or boric acid with methanol, a type of alcohol, and ignite the solution. The alcohol burns off, leaving behind a white residue from the boron compound. Add more alcohol when you want more colored fire. But, always make certain the flame is completely extinguished before adding additional liquid fuel. The boron compound is not consumed, so it can be re-used.
Copper sulfate is an algicide and root killing agent. If you have copper sulfate solution, soak logs or pinecones in the liquid and let them dry before igniting them. Sprinkle solid copper sulfate onto a fire to impart a green flame.
Copper sulfate dissolves in rubbing alcohol and produces pure green fire. The copper compound is not consumed by the fire, so adding more fuel maintains the color. This compound also works on a wood or charcoal fire, although expect a rainbow of colors from the interaction with other chemicals in the fuel.

"I was young then, and full of trigger-itch; I thought that because fewer wolves meant more deer that no wolves would mean hunters' paradise. But after seeing the green fire die, I sensed that neither the wolf nor the mountain agreed with such a view."

User can create green fire more intense than blue fire. The flames are this color due to oxygen changes or because of myth. They are harder to control due to increased heat and intensity. This type of fire may be immune, or even ignite stronger in contact with water.

Green Fire, most often seen in the form of Green Candles, is a type of bright green flame that produces a cloud of colorless, odorless, and non-toxic fumes that linger in an area and can either weaken or entirely disable magic constructs and the vitor channeling ability of mages themselves. These fumes are most effective when inhaled, but will also seep through the skin of those who come in contact with it.
Kinoro-based Green Fire (Which requires approval from a Moderator+) is the more rare and highly expensive form of Green Fire, rarely seen amongst individuals and most often used to defend important locations such as the Lattish Keep from interference by mages. The process to create them is the same as with Vitarelyum-based fire, only using Kinoro power in the place of Vitarelyum powder. When lit, it usually creates a cloud with a radius of roughly 40 feet, but this radius can be extended to blanket entire indoor structures provided the presence of specifically designed ventilation canals. The fumes created by Kinoro-based fire entirely disables mages of any level, as well as entirely disabling any magic construct that subsists off of vitor alone, and severely weakening the strength and movement ability of constructs who rely partly on inherent magic (such as carnomantic beasts). Contrary to the Vitarelyum-based fumes, the effects of Kinoro fumes end shortly after leaving the cloud. 041b061a72
